American publication WardsAuto unveiled its seventh annual top 10 interiors list this week. If expensive luxury cars occupy a good chunk of the list, there is also room for more wallet-friendly models. More so than last year, that’s for sure.
WardsAuto’s editorial team trades the models during the year and each member evaluates the interior of a particular model according to a series of criteria ranging from ergonomics to the quality of the materials, craftsmanship, and overall design.
Lexus and Honda are the only two manufacturers to be back in the top 10. Last year, the Civic made the list for Honda while the RX made it for Lexus.
Here are the top 10 interiors in the industry according to WardsAuto, in alphabetical order.
Alfa Romeo Giulia
The new Italian luxury sedan has recently arrived in Canada and will compete with the BMW 3 Series, the Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Bentley Bentayga
The king of the luxury SUV segment, the Bentayga doesn’t really have any competition at the moment given that it costs nearly 3 times more than a Range Rover.
Buick Lacrosse
The Buick Lacrosse is one of the most recent models in the full-size sedan segment which is less popular in Canada, but very important to American buyers.
Honda CR-V
The fifth-generation Honda CR-V features a new turbo engine and a redesigned interior with more space and more features.
Lexus LC 500
Lexus’ new flagship model, the LC 500 is available can be powered by a hybrid engine and offers a very modern, very high-tech interior.
Lincoln Continental
Like Buick’s Lacrosse, the Continental is a full-size sedan that will be much more popular with our southern neighbors than with Canadian buyers. That said,, it offers unique features and a very high-end cockpit.
Maserati Levante
The first SUV from Maserati, its objective is to ensure sales growth for the Italian brand and ultimately its survival.
Mazda CX-9
Offering several versions, it is especially the high-end model with its rosewood finish that differentiates the CX-9’s cockpit from its competition.
Mini Countryman
A bit surprising to find the new Countryman’s cabin on this list given that it has not changed much compared to the previous generation. Its retro look is certainly unique in the market.
Subaru Impreza
Completely redesigned this year, the Subaru Impreza features an interior that is light-years away from the outgoing model.
