More power for the new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor

We already knew it was going to be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine and would be equipped with a 10-speed automatic gearbox, but we weren’t sure yet just how much power the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor would have under its bulging hood.

Well now we know. Ford’s new Raptor will deliver 450 horsepower (39 more than the former Raptor equipped with the 6.2-liter engine) to your right foot, as well as 510 lb-ft of torque. It will also be able to deal with basically any type of road you are on thanks to six driving modes including Baja which locks the truck into 4 High, takes away the stability control system (or at least keeps its intrusions to a minimum), and optimizes the engine’s performance. The idea is to find a desert, and just let it rock.

Ford likes to unveil details of its upcoming vehicles at a little-by-little pace. At least we now know the engine’s power in addition to knowing that the Raptor will be quite comfortable in off-road driving. All that’s left know is to find out when we can get our hands on it, and how much it will cost.

We should know more soon.
