The Ferrari of utility vehicles

We all know it’s coming. In fact, so inevitable is a Ferrari SUV that the fabled supercar brand’s future could be in jeopardy, at least that’s what a few specialized European car websites think.

Ferrari SUV

While Ferrari could survive without an SUV, Lamborghini’s decision to launch the insane Urus is what will have sealed the deal in our opinion. Picture your typical mom and dad Lamborghini/Ferrari shopper looking to buy a car for their first born. In the Lamborghini showroom, they like the Huracán and it so happens to be parked alongside a Urus. Suddenly, mom wants to replace her aging 9-month old Range Rover Sport with something a little flashier.

As the parents are careful and mindful consumers, they decide to go over to the Ferrari store and check out the selection. They promptly head back to Lambo and sign away $800,000.

The Ferrari SUV will probably launch in 2020, or thereabouts. There are no details yet available but a combination of the GTC4Lusso V12 and T’s power- and drivetrain seem the most appropriate. The T’s turbocharged 3.9-litre V8, shared with the 488, is good for 610-620-horsepower and 561 lb.-ft. of torque and the V12 sports that trick 4RM AWD system.
