Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is not giving up on Alfa Romeo in North America. Instead, the brand is planning to attack the most important segment on this side of the Atlantic with an all-new sport utility vehicle which will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in a few weeks.
FCA hasn’t provided many details about its new SUV, but earlier this year CEO Sergio Marchionne indicated that it would be called the Stelvio. The Alfa Romeo SUV should be one of the marquee unveilings at the L.A. Auto Show this year.
The new model would join the Giulia in the North American Alfa Romeo lineup. The sedan is expected to launch soon, although its arrival date has been pushed back many times over.
FCA had big plans for its lineup when it announced its intentions to invest 6.5 billion $ between now and 2018 to develop and introduce 8 new models to the market. That plan has since been pushed back to 2020 because of market conditions in China, an important country for Alfa Romeo.
