A couple of tips to help with parking

Parking is something most drivers do without really thinking about it. After a few years of driving, it is indeed true that it becomes somewhat second nature. That said, there are a few tips that you can put into action which will help prevent any parking-related damages to your vehicle while also making things a little easier for you.

Back into the parking spot

It may be a little faster to go into your parking spot with the front-end first, but ultimately you want to try and park going in with the back of your vehicle first. That will actually be easier because the car rotates around the rear wheels which means you have more control and can cut the angles a lot closer, and it will be a lot easier to leave your parking spot.

Parking on a hill

When parking on a hill, make sure you angle your wheels away from the road and towards the sidewalk, and then put on the emergency brake. If the brake fails, your vehicle will roll to the side which will minimize damages both to your vehicle as well as other vehicles.

Mind the other vehicles

Don’t park too close to other vehicles in order to give them more room to get in or back up, and also avoid parking too close to older vehicles that have less to lose when dinging your doors or hitting your bumper.
